Once your first session is scheduled, you will receive a comprehensive email with everything you need to prepare you for a successful session. This email will include all the essential information to ensure a smooth session, from the necessary documents that need to be completed and returned before the appointment, to instructions on how to best prepare, and even my office address if the session is face-to-face. This letter will provide you with all the support you need to be fully prepared for your next session
I would also like to encourage you to take some time before our first meeting to reflect on and record your challenges. This important step will help you identify the goals you wish to achieve during our sessions, and will pave the way for in-depth and useful discussions during the session
During our first sessions, I will conduct a thorough assessment of your current challenges, past experiences, strengths that set you apart, and weaknesses you wish to address… This assessment can include in-depth conversations and the use of various assessment tools to better understand the psychological, emotional, and behavioral dimensions
This process may take several sessions – a maximum of 3 – depending on the complexity of the issues at hand and your individual needs. Based on the results of this assessment, we will work together to create a comprehensive development plan based on your personal goals and needs. This plan will determine the most appropriate therapeutic approach for you, as well as the recommended number of sessions to achieve sustainable and effective progress
My goal is to provide comprehensive and effective support that helps you achieve your goals and improve your overall quality of life
As a licensed psychotherapist, I adhere to all the standards of the professional code of ethics that govern the therapeutic relationship between therapist and client, especially when it comes to protecting the confidentiality of your information. Rest assured that any personal information shared during our sessions will be treated with the utmost care and confidentiality and will not be shared with third parties for any purpose without your written consent. There are certain circumstances that may warrant a breach of confidentiality, including
Your express written consent to share information –
Intervene to prevent a clear and imminent danger to your life or the lives of others, especially if you are unable to ensure your own safety or the safety of those around you.
In cases that involve the safety and security of other people such as abuse with children, adults with special needs, or the elderly –
When requested by a judicial official in accordance with the law –
To emphasize my commitment to the confidentiality of your information, we will discuss any concerns or queries you may have about maintaining confidentiality during our sessions
Individual sessions last for 50 minutes. Marriage and family therapy sessions last 90 minutes and are usually held once a week. More frequent sessions can be arranged or recommended in special cases to facilitate more intensive work or according to the client’s needs
If special assessments or tests are required, the duration, times and frequency of the session will be determined based on the agreed upon needs and goals
Session fees depend on several factors, such as whether the session is for an individual or a couple, and whether it is online or in person. Therefore, we will provide you with all information regarding fees and payment options precisely when you communicate with the booking agent before your first consultation.
Please note that phone calls, emails or reports that require more than 15 minutes will be treated as a session and will be billed at the applicable session rate (calculated in relation to the actual time spent)
The frequency and duration of sessions varies from individual to individual and depending on the specific issue(s). An estimate of treatment duration can be provided, but clients should keep in mind that these are only rough estimates that can change depending on what clients hope to achieve
If a client chooses to have online sessions through any agreed upon online video platform, they should realize that online communication is not 100% secure so it is important to use a secure internet connection rather than a public or free WiFi network
You’ll need a webcam or smartphone for the session, and make sure your audio and video settings are working effectively
Wear appropriate clothing during the session; do not show up in inappropriate clothing such as swimsuits or pajamas
Confidentiality requirements are the same as those for in-person sessions and apply to all information shared during online sessions
Sessions should not be recorded by the client or therapist
Timekeeping is critical to successful sessions, so it’s important to be available at the scheduled time of your session
Choose a quiet, private and distraction-free place
If you need to cancel or change your pre-scheduled session, you must notify us by phone or email 24 hours prior to your session
In case of technical issues, we will continue to try to restore the online connection for up to a maximum of 15 minutes, after which we will reschedule
Please note that the work of a psychologist does not involve providing any medical consultations or writing prescriptions or medications, so online consultations may often be insufficient, in which case the psychologist will discuss options and make a referral to a doctor to provide health care and write the necessary prescriptions.
The duration of a marriage or family counseling session is 90 minutes, during which all issues surrounding the relationship or group of relationships within the family are discussed and an intervention plan is developed to solve these issues according to a scientific approach proven to be effective
Marriage and family counseling sessions are subject to a “no secrets” policy, so all parties involved in the sessions must be present, and if a party is absent, the session will be canceled or rescheduled. This policy allows for the continuation of couple or family therapy by preventing, to the greatest extent possible, conflicts of interest where an individual’s interests may not align with those of the group
In the event that this policy is not applicable for specific reasons, or if it may jeopardize the safety of individuals, this will be discussed and will be reconsidered and necessary changes made to the therapeutic approach after the agreement of all parties involved
Please keep in mind that the goal of these consultations is to improve the quality of the relationship, and therefore the therapist is not a party and cannot take sides and must maintain the utmost neutrality and objectivity while addressing issues related to the relationship, nor will any summaries, reports or opinions be provided by us to support any divorce proceedings or to be used against the other party for any personal benefit
Please note that I do not provide services for children under the age of 14, but I do provide support and advice to parents on issues for children under this age. While I provide counseling and work directly with children and adolescents ages 14 and above, written consent from a parent or legal guardian is required to begin sessions
We do not recommend contacting the specialist outside of session times, but if necessary, you can call or email us. Every effort will be made to respond to all inquiries within 48 hours
Please do not share any private or confidential matters via messages or through our social media pages, as there is a full team that manages these pages and no information should be shared except during the sessions to maintain confidentiality.
It is important to note that we do not provide crisis and emergency services, so if clients need out-of-hours services due to mental or emotional stress, they should contact the emergency department of the nearest hospital
Please note that we currently do not offer direct billing services to insurance companies through our website. However, we have other partners that we can collaborate with to provide the required insurance services through them, and we have a dedicated team ready to assist and guide you on your insurance benefits and whether the sessions are included in your insurance plan or not
Please note that retroactive claims cannot be made for any of the paid sessions, so you must provide all necessary information and send a copy of your valid ID for registration purposes as well as a copy of your insurance card while booking your session so that our insurance officer can assist you in the best way possible.
Please note that we do not provide emergency services. In the event of an emergency requiring immediate assistance, please contact the nearest hospital or emergency services provider in your area. Our services are designed to provide pre-scheduled appointments and psychological support during office hours. If you are facing a crisis or urgent matter, it is important to seek help from trained professionals who can provide immediate care and support
It is also preferred that you provide us with the contact information of individuals who can be contacted in case of an emergency or if it is a matter of your health and safety… Please ensure that the contact details you have provided are up to date, and that you have chosen someone who is reliable, accessible and responsive in an emergency
Sessions may be terminated at any time and may be requested by the client or professional… But in general, our journey ends when the goals set at the beginning of the counseling relationship have been achieved
If a client stops attending sessions without prior notice, the therapist will not contact them out of respect for their decision. The lack of contact should not be interpreted as the therapist not caring about you, but these are universally accepted professional and ethical boundaries.
If you decide at a later date that you are ready to resume your sessions again, feel free to contact us
We support you in your journey of change and are waiting to help you anytime you decide to come back and continue working on your goals
